Brittany Haynes

Brittany Haynes

Brittany holds a BFA from Boston University (2012) and continued her studies in classical painting at the Academy of Realist Art, Boston from 2016 to 2019.

For the past decade, Brittany’s scenic career has led to a multitude of theater and film projects on both coasts. Brittany maintains her studio practice in Lowell, MA, and has shown work at the Rockport Arts Association & Museum National Show (2019), the Hudson Valley Artist Association Annual Exhibit (2020, 2022), and the Guild of Boston Artists Annual Juried Exhibition (2020, 2023).

Greatly inspired by Japanese Painting and Buddhism, Brittany’s work consists of self-reflection, awareness, and the internal journey. She aims to elevate the familiar and capture quiet moments, creating a connection for the viewer through secular objects and natural material. Her paintings reflect on the fragility of life and the impermanence of all things. Her goal is to create works that evoke meditation and reflect the changes one can experience throughout a lifetime.

Brittany is also a visual artist and union member of the United Scenic Artists, Local 829, working within the entertainment and decorative arts industry. Primarily working as a backdrop painter for ballet companies in New York and California, she also worked summerstock at Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, MA (2012, 2013), on NBC’s “Peter Pan Live” (2015), and in 2015 worked as Art Director for the feature film “Confession.” After a brief hiatus while studying at the ARA Boston, in 2021 Brittany returned to scenic work to paint for the series “Dexter, New Blood” and feature film “Salem’s Lot.”
