Maine Stories
Maine Stories celebrates a landscape tradition which has captivated generations of artists for over 100 years, from Thomas Cole and Frederick Church to Winslow Homer and Andrew Wyeth, and many more. A vital place of artistic inspiration, Maine's alluring wild beauty, rugged coastline, churning seas, iconic lighthouses, vivid buoys, lobster boats and twilit harbors have been subjects for some of America’s finest painters.
I grew up with the art of Maine. My grandparents painted there. My father was a painter in the Ogunquit Maine Art colony. My mother who studied with Maine painter Charles Woodbury, was a museum docent and Art Historian. I am excited to bring the unique Maine experience and inspired energy to the gallery.
Participating artists include Thomas Adkins, Del-Bourree Bach, Paul Beebe, Kevin Beers, Zufar Bikbov, Paul Brahms, Deborah Chabrian, Ken DeWaard, Tom Glover, Alison Hill, Neal Hughes, Tom Hughes, Jessica Lee Ives, Eric Jacobsen, Andrew Lattimore, Jim Laurino, Jonathan McPhillips, Leonard Mizerek, Stan Moeller, Jeanne Rosier Smith, and Carolyn Walton.
There will be an opening reception on Friday, October 4, from 5- 8 pm. Join us for wine and hore d'oeuvres and meet the artists.
