Join us and meet Vincent Giarrano at the opening reception for his solo show City Stories on Saturday, August 14, from 4-7 pm.
Urban, stylish contemporary women, graffiti-laden doorways, neon signs, atmospheric NYC bars, unfinished construction sites, timeless cast iron Soho archtiectdure, and bright, sunlit facades draw you in; each painting has a narrative element with a mystery and history about each person and place. Vincent chooses carefully what elements to detail, leaving the rest to the viewer's imagination. In this new series of 25 paintings, Vincent explores the city's colors, light and shadows- daytime street shadows and window reflections, interior versus exterior sources of light. He finds a mysterious entry, and the lighting inside enhances the story.
Vincent Giarrano has exhibited in major museums, including the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., and the National Portrait Gallery in London. He's had numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States.
Please check back frequently as we'll be adding new paintings to the show weekly.
